The story so far...
Ciarafest 1
Right Turn Clyde, The Broken Family Band and Rob Jackson & Emily Barker
July 25, 2002
SOLD OUT. This was the first live performance with Rob and Emily playing together, which went on to form the basis of The Low Country.
Ciarafest 2
The Broken Family Band, The Pony Collaboration, Bomb Factory and Jazz, with compere Um
August 28, 2003
SOLD OUT. Included a solo acoustic set from Jazz, frontman of Right Turn Clyde (now RTC) and The Saffs. It was also the second ever Bomb Factory gig.
Ciarafest 3
The Broken Family Band, The Pony Collaboration and Conscious Pilot
August 7, 2004
SOLD OUT. This was the debut gig of Conscious Pilot (now Wave 67).
Ciarafest 4
The Singing Loins, The Low Country and Um
January 22, 2005
The first Ciarafest night not to sell out! While some may think the bands should hang their heads in shame, all have been involved in other sell-outs and we still made money for the charity!
Ciarafest 5
Monsters of Acoustic Rock: Chris T-T, The Singing Adams and Timothy Victor
December 3, 2005
SOLD OUT. First time we did two gigs in a year. The singing Adams is Broken Family Band frontman Steven Adams. All played acoustic and got together at the end to do a track together. Accordion player Gill Sandell seemed to spend half the night on stage as well!
Ciarafest 6
The Singing Loins, The Low Country, The Pony Collaboration and Paul Goodwin
April 1, 2006
SOLD OUT. Paul went onstage at 8pm and the room was two-thirds full half way through his set. Proof, if any were needed, that Ciarafest goers are prodigious drinkers.
Ciarafest 7
The Saffs, Return of Id, The Pony Collaboration and Eleanor Walker
October 7, 2006
SOLD OUT. Two classic 90s Cambridge bands reformed, The Saffs for one of three gigs and Return of Id as a one-off.
Ciarafest 8
Man From Uranus, Um, The Resistance and Wave 67
February 3, 2007
SOLD OUT. Our first all-electronic Ciarafest was another sell-out.
Ciarafest 9
Dolittle, MJ Hibbett, Daniel Flay and Tom Conway
March 24, 2007
Another good turn out for the early start, with Tom getting a cracking reception early doors. Not a sell out, but a lovely evening all the same.
Ciarafest 10
The Broken Family Band, The Pony Collaboration, Um and The Judge Reinholds
December 14, 2007
SOLD OUT. The first gig for The Judge Reinholds, plus the first night our T-shirts went on sale. Billed as a 'best of' Ciarafest, and so it turned out.
Ciarafest 11
Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo, the-low-country, The Singing Loins, Rob Jackson + Ed Wenn & John Ruscoe
April 12, 2008
SOLD OUT. Having had what was the first live public concert by Emily Barker and Rob Jackson at Ciarafest 1, Ciarafest 11 included what may well be the last hurrah of the band that came out of that musical partnership, the-low-country – and lovely it was too. First on the bill was Ed Wenn & John Ruscoe, the partnership behind the likes of Big Ray and Chocolate; it was Ed’s first stage performance in three years.
Ciarafest 12
The Cathode Ray Syndrome*, The Tupolev Ghost, We Rock Like Girls Don't and The Last Dinosaur
December 6th, 2008
SOLD OUT. This was a noisy night with four Ciarafest debutants - three with strong Cambridge connections - filling the room once more.
Ciarafest 13
Chris T-T, Paul Goodwin Band, Ellie Walker and Steve Bradshaw
May 8th, 2009
After being let down by a couple of bands late on (you know who you are), this hastily arranged line-up still managed to raise the roof (and a decent chunk of change for the Rosie).
